The Object as Mirror
Crowd-Sourced Poster

I created this crowd-sourced poster set in collaboration with Noah Baker and Emma Thompson to advertise The Object as Mirror, an exhibition at a St. Louis commercial art space.

The poster itself has the instructions for participants to follow—they were asked to pick a single marker, make a mark in one quadrant, and then reflect the mark into the other three quadrants.

The participant portion ended once all of the markers were used on a specific poster. Our team then rearranged the four quadrants according to pre-set combinations we devised.

The result is a set of posters, of the same nature but not identical, that speak to “the construction and reflection of personal and social identity,” as the exhibit description puts it.
